The Northeast Texas Water Coalition was formed on January 22nd, 2007, to promote the future water needs of the Northeast Texas region.

The coalition’s primary goal is to inform the public of the potential benefits of the proposed Marvin Nichols Reservoir which affects Bowie, Franklin, Red River, and Titus counties.

The Marvin Nichols Reservoir will provide Northeast Texas residents with a water source estimated at an additional 78 million gallons of water per day, for future municipal, industrial and recreational use.

The Northeast Texas Water Coalition board is composed of citizen volunteers and locally elected officials from Bowie, Franklin, Red River and Titus counties.

The Northeast Texas Water Coalition’s mission is to work with all interested parties and stakeholders to develop a significant water resource in the Northeast Texas region which will serve to ensure the future sustainability, growth and economic development of the region in a manner which serves the best interests of all local citizens, landowners and industry while also serving the greater needs of the
State of Texas.
